Online Class FAQ
How long will I have access to the online class?
You will have lifetime access to the online class! This means you will also get access to all current content as well as any content or videos added in the future!
How much time do I need to do this?
The online Beginners Photography Class is a self paced course, designed to take your photography to the next level as fast and efficiently as possible with videos that are quick, straight to the point and packed with info. You will receive instant, lifetime access to the class and all its content. Take your time or binge watch like your favorite Netflix show, it’s totally up to you! In addition to the private Facebook group, once you’ve had a chance to watch all the videos, you will also receive a live 30 minute coaching call with Kristin to go over anything you might be struggling with.
What if I am more advanced and not a beginner?
The Beginners Photography Class is for beginner to intermediate skill levels. Whether you are brand new to photography or have been dabbling for years, if you find yourself struggling to get consistently beautiful photos and want to learn my tips and tricks for creating images you are proud of, then the Beginners Photography Class is right for you! Do you teach in-person classes?
Yes! Before the online classes were born, the Beginners Photography Class began as local group classes in Lexington, KY. Learn more about in-person classes here. Registration is opened about a month before the class date and always fills up quickly. Join our VIP email list to get a heads up when enrollment opens.
What if I have questions after the class?
No problem! This is where our one on one coaching call and private Facebook community comes in! Introduce yourself and feel free to post questions or images for critique to the group. I will check in everyday to answer any questions you may have! If you are having difficulty with the site, email us at hello@beginnersphotographyclass.com and we will help you troubleshoot right away.
Will I learn how to shoot in manual?
Yes! My goal is for you to be shooting in 100% manual settings by the end of the class!
Will you teach us how to edit our photos?
Yes! While I do preach the value of taking a good solid image in camera to avoid extensive editing, this class does introduce learning how to edit your images in Lightroom. Online members will also receive my Lightroom preset that I use to edit all of my images as well as videos of me using Lightroom to show you step by step how I edit. Advanced Lightroom editing class coming soon! Get on the vip list for details!
Can I still take the class if I don’t have a fancy digital camera?
The Beginners Photography Class focuses on using a DSLR camera and manual camera settings. However, the class will teach you how to take better pictures regardless of the camera you are using. Check the DSLR JUMPSTART for my camera recommendations.
How do I access the online course materials?

Will I receive one-on-one coaching during this course?
Absolutely! The class includes a 30 minute coaching call with Kristin via phone or FaceTime. You will also have a chance to connect with other students in our private facebook group. I will check-in daily and answer any questions you might have! In-Person Class FAQ
Where does the class take place?
This photography class takes place at Kristin Tatem’s natural light studio at 316 North Ashland Ave. Lexington, Kentucky 40502.
How much time do I need to do this?
The in-person class is a 5.5 hour, small group class that is jam packed with information and hands on shooting.
What if I am more advanced and not a beginner?

Due to time constraints with our in person class, we do not cover learning how to edit your images, although I will recommend software options. Bundle with the online class to learn how I edit my images in Lightroom.

What do I need to bring to class?
Bring your camera, any lenses you have, and your user manual. If you’ve lost your manual they can usually be found online and downloaded to your mobile device. I will have a workbook and an awesome swag bag for you too!
I signed up for the in-person class, but now I cannot make it, can I get a refund?
In the event that you purchase a seat and cannot attend for any reason, the seats are non-refundable. They are however transferable and you may sell or give aways your seat.
